PAM-STORAGE Input Management

Business documents must first be collected and
formatted before they can be stored, organised
and edited in the PAM-STORAGE HSM Archive.

‘Input-Management’ offers PAM-STORAGE all the required components for creating, compiling, editing, and converting unstructured (NCI non coded information) and structured (CI Coded Information) information.

Manually created and scanned information:
All types of information that are either in paper form or generated using electronic office systems (e.g. MS Office, CAD, Audio files, Video files) can be classed as a manual recording.

Automatically created documents:
Printing reels or databank objects can be semi-automatically and automatically captured and triggered using preliminary ERP systems. Serial printing such as outgoing invoices, wage statements etc. are typical areas of use. Reorganised data for strategic EDP systems can also be the data source for the capture.

Content indexing and opening of recorded documents:
To make captured documents (e.g. document management and workflow systems) usable companywide they must be indexed using search criterion. This process is supported by barcode recognition and optical character recognition for image files. The indexing of electronically recorded document types (e.g. print files) can be completely automated.

 Products for Unified Input Management

imaging@PAM - document capture with scanner

imaging@PAM offers a system that captures paper based documents. All the current scanner types are supported with TWAIN und KOFAX drivers. Virtual Rescan and automatic image correction make sure the optimal image quality is obtained. The integrated barcode recognition system supports the information extraction and enables fast and secure document indexing. Image files are saved in TIFF Group 4, PDF and JPG formats.

cold@PAM - print list capture

The term COLD stands for Computer Output on Laser Disk and is an automatic conversion process of input files that originate from initial data sources. Relevant document content is extracted using automatic indexing.

bdo@PAM - capture of database objects

To unload productive database systems, databases can be archived with bdo@PAM (business database objects). Data is exported from the productive database in the form of text files. bdo@PAM takes over these text files and stores them on inexpensive media.  In the course of the archiving bdo@PAM automatically selects information and uses it for the indexing to provide information at a later time.

e-forms@PAM - electronic Forms

If you have hitherto used preprints in paper copy for the processing of business cases or for the settlement of internal matters, we can offer you a lasting improvement to your forms administration with e-forms@PAM. With e-forms@PAM you transform fixed paper forms into XML forms which you can then provide clearly in PAM-STORAGE DMS for companywide use.
