At some point in time emails lose their relevance for daily business and only have
to be preserved in archives for legal reasons or to comply with quality policies.
At the same time, they are accessed less frequently. It would thus make sense to
move emails according to their relevance from expensive online media to affordable
nearline or offline media.
PAM for NOTES offloads archived files to affordable storage media, creates email
copies,
or deletes emails on expiration of the defined retention period. The built-in compliance
logic ensures that emails under the duty to preserve cannot be deleted prior to
expiration of the retention periods.
The user does not have to remember which storage location is used as PAM for NOTES
automatically accesses the correct storage medium.
